FAQ

Answers, before you ask

What is ISP software?

ISP software is the operational platform an internet service provider uses to authenticate subscribers, provision bandwidth, invoice customers, monitor the network, and handle support. BillFi bundles all of these — RADIUS, billing, OLT/router management, captive portal, ticketing, HR and accounting — behind one login.

Do I need separate tools for RADIUS, billing and monitoring?

No. Separate tools mean separate logins, inconsistent data and finger-pointing when something breaks. BillFi is a single system: a customer signup automatically creates the RADIUS user, the invoice, the router profile and the portal login in one step.

Which router and OLT vendors does BillFi support?

MikroTik (via RouterOS API), Cisco, Juniper, Huawei (MA5800 / MA5600T), ZTE (C300 / C320 / C600) and BDCOM OLTs, plus any NAS that speaks standard RADIUS.

Can BillFi replace what I have without downtime?

Yes. Our team runs a parallel import of subscribers, plans and RADIUS data, then cuts DNS/AAA over during a low-traffic window. Most operators migrate in a single evening.

How is BillFi priced?

Per active subscriber, starting at $9/month for the Starter tier. No per-router fees, no captive-portal add-on, no HR module upsell — every feature is included.

Is BillFi cloud-hosted or on-premise?

Cloud by default — no servers to run, automatic backups, zero-downtime upgrades. Enterprise customers can also self-host on their own VM or bare-metal cluster with the same feature set.

How secure is subscriber data in BillFi?

All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We run role-based access control, per-action audit logs, optional 2FA for admins and SSO via SAML / Google Workspace for enterprise plans.

Does BillFi work for WISPs, FTTH ISPs and hotspot operators?

Yes. The same platform runs wireless WISPs (radio + queue trees), FTTH ISPs (OLT + TR-069), enterprise leased-line operators (static IP allocation) and public-WiFi hotspot businesses (voucher / captive-portal flows).

Can non-technical staff run BillFi day-to-day?

Yes — the admin UI is designed for CSRs and billing teams. Complex network actions (create RADIUS user, apply queue, push CoA) are wrapped as one-click flows, and every action shows what happened on the router side in plain English.

What kind of support do you provide?

24/7 chat and email on every plan, WhatsApp for emerging-market operators, video calls for setup, and a dedicated engineer for Enterprise. Average first-response time is under 8 minutes.
